Where this format came from
The format comes from a short comic in which a character hovers, sweating, between two red buttons — both attractive, mutually exclusive. It spread as the definitive image of a no-win preference: pressing either one feels wrong. Our layout recreates the choice with two large button emoji over a character who is very much not enjoying the decision, and two label zones under the buttons.
How to use it well
- The two options must conflict — if you could do both, there is no meme.
- Mirror the wording of the two labels so the conflict is structural, not verbal.
