Where this format came from
The format began as a photograph of a man seated at a table on a campus with a sign stating an unpopular opinion, inviting passers-by to argue. Online, the sign became a blank canvas for confident hot takes — the humour is the combination of a very debatable claim and a very settled posture. Our recreation is an original layout: a seated figure emoji, a big sign zone, and your sentence doing all the work.
How to use it well
- One sentence only. If the take needs a comma splice and a caveat, it is not ready.
- State it as fact, not as a question — the confidence is the format.
- Mild, relatable takes (food, apps, etiquette) get argued with more than serious ones.
Example captions
- “Cereal is better dry. Change my mind.”
- “The meeting should have been a message. Change my mind.”
- “No-sign-up tools respect your time. Change my mind.”
